Shafaq News / Nineveh Governorate police announced arresting two suspects who raped and murdered a child in a horrible way in Zummar district.

 Police said in a statement today that "within 72 hours, the murders in the crime against the 8-year-old boy, who had been raped and killed with a stone on the head were arrested”.

The statement added that the criminals, who are two have been arrested, taking legal measures against them and writing down their statements by recognizing them initially and judicially, and arresting them according to Article 406 / A.

They were arrested in (Domiz Ain Zala) area of ​​Zummar district, northwest of Mosul city in Iraq,The statement added

The director of Zummar district, Ahmed Jaafar Qadal said on Saturday, in a statement to Shafaq News, that a child went out home at 11:00 p.m. on Friday night in "Domiz" residential complex to buy something from the nearby stores and did not return back.

He added that the child’s parents rushed to search for him, noting that the child was found at 2 a.m. on Saturday, killed with his head smashed by a stone inside an abandoned mosque in the housing complex.

Jaafar ruled out the possibility that the incident was a terrorist, saying, "We expect this crime to be criminal, but we do not anticipate the incidents, as the police launched investigations to uncover the circumstances of the incident."
