Shafaq News / US Secretary of State ,Mike Pompeo said on Saturday that Washington condemns Iranian interventions in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria, stressing that Iran is exploiting Iraqi and Lebanese youth for its interests, and he stressed that the United States protects the Strait of Hormuz and guarantees security of the Gulf.

Pompeo's statements came as part of his speech to the Munich Security Conference, as he outlined America's security and military achievements in confronting terrorism and Iran's ambitions.

Pompeo noted that the United States fought "ISIS" and its extremist ideas and succeeded in getting rid of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, adding that "we have worked hard to prevent ISIS from obtaining safe havens."

He said that his country rejects the German accusations of Washington withdrawing from the international scene, stressing that sovereignty is the basis in the West as well as democracy and justice.
