Shafaq News / Pope Vatican, Pope Francis has requested the Iraqi President, Barham Salih to obtain an Iraqi ID card for him, proving that he is a descendant of the Prophet Ibrahim.

This came during the meeting that brought together Saleh, Pope Francis and the Foreign Minister on the second day of his visit to the Vatican.

The Holy See said that the meetings focused on advancing peace and security in Iraq, especially for the Christian minority, many of whose people fled from their areas that have a history dating back to Christ Jesus to escape ISIS militants.

The Vatican said in a statement that the meetings discussed the importance of preserving the historical presence of Christians in the countries they are an integral part of, and the important contribution they make to rehabilitating the social fabric, highlighting the need to ensure their security and their position in the future of Iraq.
