Shafaq News / A local official reported on Tuesday that a pregnant woman has infected with Corona virus in al- Zubair district of Basra Governorate, in southern Iraq.
“A new infection was recorded in the northern region, and that she is a pregnant woman who participated in a condolences gathering,” District administration manager, Abbas Maher said in a statement to Shafaq News.
The official added that 15 people who were in contact with the woman were isolated.
For its part, Basra Health Department announced in a statement today, 39 cases of corona virus were recorded.
The statement indicated that 4 cases had recovered and that no deaths had been recorded.
The statement outlined the total positive cases in the governorate with 356 infections, including 17 deaths, 183 recovery cases, and 156 under treatment.
A source from Basra Health Department, the southernmost province of Iraq announced earlier that it has recorded only one infection with Corona virus.
The department said in a statement today that its laboratories recorded a new infection with the virus, while 8 cases recovered.
The statement summarized the total infection cases in the governorate as follows: 317 infections, including 17 deaths, 179 recoveries, while 121 others are still being treated.
Bloggers in Basra Governorate circulated a document that included recording a number of infections in Al-Hartha district north of the province, which has not been officially announced yet.
According to the document, a copy of which was mentioned to Shafaq News, and it’s not known if it is true yet as it mentioned that most of the affected cases are women, and the number of infected people is (37) man and a woman who have been confirmed as positive cases of Corona epidemic.
Shafaq News reporter tried to check the accuracy of the document but the relevant authorities didn’t cooperate.
As Basra recorded 317 cases of corona virus, including 17 deaths, 179 recoveries, and 121 others are still being under treatment.
