Shafaq News / A video has recorded the moments of prisoners escape from al-Qanat police station in Baghdad.

Minister of Interior , Yasin al-Yasiri ordered on Saturday to exempt Baghdad police chief,  police director of Baghdad-Rusafa and the director of Bab al-Sheikh police station as well as detain them at the ministry's headquarters.

The minister's order came against the background of the escape of a number of detainees filed for drug crimes in al-Qanat police station.

Al-Yasiri also directed, according to a statement issued by his office, to form an investigative committee of senior officers of the Ministry to disclose the circumstances of the detainees escape.

The statement added that al-Yasiri ordered to detain the officer of the police station and the group in charge of the duty and take legal action against them.

Al- Yasiri has ordered to form several task forces to search and investigate fugitives , intensify intelligence procedures and unite efforts to arrest them.

A security source reported that about 15 prisoners managed to escape from the police station east of Baghdad, noting that the security forces were mobilized and deployed in the vicinity of the area near the center in an attempt to arrest the fugitive prisoners and return them to the center.

According to the source, the prisoners escaped from the drug control department inside the station.
