Shafaq News / Dozens of angry demonstrators imposed on Sunday a cordon at Dhi Qar police headquarters in southern Iraq, as protests escalated in the country since yesterday, which was accompanied by a wave of violence by security forces.
An official security source and witnesses told Shafaq News that the protesters set fire to a four-wheel drive car of the police forces near al-Shamiya area.
The source and witnesses added that the demonstrators managed to reach Dhi Qar police headquarters and organized a protest there.
The protesters burned tires near Al-Rahman Hospital, a few meters from the police headquarters, according to the source and witnesses.
More than 30 demonstrators were injured in Nasiriyah city in a clash with security forces in the southern governorate, which witnessed the killing of 3 protesters yesterday, and several wounded in a protest this morning.
