Shafaq News / The Iraqi Meteorological Organization and Seismology said on Monday that an earthquake hit an Iranian town bordering Khanaqin district in Diyala Province.
The body said in a statement that its seismic observatories detected an earthquake on 4/20/2020 at exactly (3:22:43) local time.
The monitor noted that the earthquake originated from Sarpol-e Zahab, a town in Iran, about 37 km northeast of Khanaqin district, indicating that its strength reached 3.4 degrees on the Richter scale.
A statement from the body said quake was felt by citizens in the border areas.
