Shafaq News / MP of "Saairun" bloc , Sadiq al-Sulaiti announced on Monday, the bloc's rejection of the parliamentary election law sent by the government.
Al-Sulaiti said in a statement today that "the election law sent by the government guarantees the allocation of 50% of the proportional representation of party lists as in previous elections, which allows party candidates to win seats in parliament and leave the remaining percentage of candidates who win the highest votes," stressing that "this law cannot changes the political equation that has brought Iraq to where it is now."
He explained that "the bloc calls for the adoption of the election law of the parliament for those who receive the highest votes in their constituency, where we see that the true representation of the will of the voters is represented by this law."
It is scheduled for the parliament to vote in a session to be held later today on the legislative elections law sent by the Council of Ministers.
