Shafaq News/ The Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Serbia and the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Baghdad denied "strongly" on Monday what it described as "malicious allegations of some irresponsible persons trying to link the Republic of Serbia or the Embassy of Serbia with the current popular protests in the Republic of Iraq.

"The Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Embassy respect the independence of Iraq and do not interfere in any way with the political process," the Ministry said in a statement.

"The Republic of Serbia and the Serbian people are proud of the historic friendship with the Iraqi people and express their deep regret over the loss of life and hope for a quick and peaceful political solution to the current crisis," the statement said.
