Shafaq News / The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced on Tuesday, the death of one of its fighters after freezing from the severe cold while performing his duty in Nineveh Governorate, northern Iraq.

The media of PMF said in a statement reported to Shafaq News that, "The brigade 25 of the PMF say farewell to the martyr Salah Karim al-Awaji while performing the sacred duty due to the cold weather and freezing, which led him to lose his life in al-Hather sector."

Iraq is witnessing a wave of heavy snow accompanied by a sharp decrease in temperatures in some northern regions, to -10 degrees.
