Shafaq News / A security source in Najaf governorate said today, Monday, that tension has escalated again between security forces and demonstrators.
The source told Shafaq news agency that clashes reemerged between the demonstrators and the security forces, pointing that streets were blocked with burning tires.
Another security source in Najaf governorate said earlier today that clashes between protestors and security forces took place near the local government building in the province.
Najaf province witnessed two days ago, large-scale demonstrations demanding the dismissal of Governor Louay al-Yasiri and his deputies.
On Sunday, angry protestors set fire to two caravans that belong to the governor and threw stones at the civil defense teams that tried to extinguish the fire, wounding two members.
