Shafaq News / The commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Ismail Qaani arrived Baghdad on Wednesday, with an Iranian government delegation that includes Energy Minister ,Reza Ardakanian and other officials.
Qaani had officially entered the capital, Baghdad after obtaining a visa from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry within the Iranian government delegation, a political informed source told Shafaq News agency.
He added that the aim of the visit is to "unify positions towards the imminent strategic dialogue between Baghdad and Washington."
It is expected that the "strategic dialogue" to deal with the fate of the strategic framework agreement signed between the two countries in 2008, which paved the way for the expel of American forces from Iraq at the end of 2011 after 8 years of occupation, as well as the nature of the relations between the two countries at various levels.
Washington and Baghdad will also study an agreement on the fate of US forces in Iraq, as Iran presses its allies in Iraq to expel US forces from the country.
It should be noted that the Washington-led coalition, American forces have withdrawn from 6 military forces in Iraq since Soleimani and Al- Muhandis were killed. The international coalition says this is part of the relocating and withdrawing small number of soldiers from bases .
