Shafaq News / The Iraqi army confirmed on Tuesday, that it will protect the protesters in the protest arenas until the legitimate claim is achieved.

The army chief of staff, Othman Al-Ghanimi, addressed the demonstrators by saying, "Your army and security forces are there to protect you until your legitimate demands are met."

Al-Ghanmi’s speech came in a speech commemorating the day of victory, and indicated that the demonstrations in which the people in most of the governorates resumed the image of achieving a great victory over ISIS.

He added, "The demonstrations by our people in most of the provinces brought back to us the bright image that the Iraqi army gained during the liberation battles, when we see today this great cohesion among the demonstrators demanding their legitimate rights and their brothers from the Iraqi army who provide them with protection without carrying weapons  as this stems from confidence of the citizen and cooperate with them to block the way for those who incite violence and want to burn private and public property, "addressing the demonstrators by saying," Your army and security forces are there to protect you until your legitimate demands, guaranteed by the constitution, are guaranteed to you. "
