Shafaq News / The Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council issued on Monday, three directives regarding Corona virus, and the implementation of the curfew decision, which it intends to implement in the capital, Baghdad on Tuesday night.
A statement issued by the media center of the Supreme Judicial Council, reported to Shafaq News, that "The head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faeq Zidan received in his office on Monday, Minister of Health Jaafar Sadiq Allawi, Undersecretary , Hazem al-Jumaili and Director of Public Health Dr. Riyad Abdel Amir, as discussed Legal measures to be taken to counter the threat of Corona and reduce its spread in Iraq.
The statement added that "Judge Zidan instructed the investigation courts and public prosecution offices to take legal measures in accordance with the provisions of Article (368) of the Penal Code against everyone who causes the spread of this virus by spreading false rumors about illnesses, mocking its seriousness or encouraging citizens to the gatherings in any way that was prohibited by the Office Commission Committee No. (55) for 2020.
He also directed the head of the Supreme Judicial Council to "take legal measures against those who are infected with virus who refuse to provide information to the competent medical authorities for the purpose of treating them, and to take the necessary measures to quarantine and prevent the spread of the disease to their families."
Judge Zaidan requested according to the statement, the competent security authorities, to "implement the curfew completely and arrest all those who violate this in cooperation with the sentinel courts that will follow up the implementation of the curfew."
It is noteworthy that Article (368) of the Penal Code No. 111 of 1969 stipulated a three-year prison sentence for anyone who intentionally commits an act that would spread a serious disease that harms the lives of individuals.
