Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Ministry of Defense complained about what it called "fierce media attack” against its leaders and officers .

The ministry said in a statement that it was following "with concern the ferocious media attack against senior leaders and officers whose military history is witnessing heroism and courage and their defense of the land of Iraq against threats, aimed at security and stability throughout our dear country therefore the ministry would like to clarify that what happened exactly from the media attack that targeted Lieutenant General Jamil al-Shammari, who was assigned a duty in the crisis cell of Dhi Qar province, immediately he began several meetings and issued a strong and officially confirmed orders not to fire and this was spoken orally and issued in writing to all security forces in the province as well as emphasize on the protection of demonstrators and sit-ins. "

The Ministry called for "accuracy and questionnaire facts before launching the charges with our emphasis on the sanctity of Iraqi blood and at the same time will not allow to offense our commanders , officers and the general military establishment from hostile parties that do not want progress and well-being for this country."

It also called on "demonstrators to respect law and order and to maintain peaceful demonstrations , to remember that members of the security forces are their brothers and their future ad they have the same fate "

This comes shortly after the announcement of the Bar Association in Dhi Qar province on Wednesday that the families of the victims of the protests filed nearly 200 lawsuits against the former head of the crisis cell in the province, Lieutenant General Jamil al-Shammari.
