Shafaq News / An informed source with the Presidency of the Republic revealed on Tuesday the intention of the President of the Republic, Barham Salih to send a message to the Shiite political forces regarding the candidate for prime minister.

Shiite political forces have failed to agree on a specific candidate to head the Iraqi government, following the apology of the commissioner, Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi to proceed with the presentation of his government, after a Sunni-Kurdish refusal in addition to Shiite forces.

The source told Shafaq News that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih will send a message in the coming hours, to the Shiite political forces, asking them to submit a special candidate for prime minister before the constitutional deadline ends."

He added that "the president will make it clear that otherwise he will have to exercise his powers to nominate a president for the new government, without referring to the blocs."

On Monday, the leader in the State of Law coalition, Saad al-Muttalbi, revealed candidates named by the first and second lines to head the new government.

Al-Muttalabi told Shafaq News, that "the decision to choose the new prime minister will be before the end of the constitutional deadline. Dialogues and negotiations are continuing, and the meeting of the past hours witnessed the release of names from the first line, as well as from the second line."

He stated that "The names of the first nominated first line are (Nouri Al-Maliki, Haider Al-Abadi, Faleh Al-Fayadh, Mustafa Al-Kathemi), and the second line names are (Asaad Al-Eidani, Haitham Al-Jabouri, Adnan Al-Zorfi), but there is no agreement on any a personality until this time, but this matter will be settled before the constitutional deadline wnds. "

The failure of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi to form his government showed great differences in the Shiite political house, and some linked the visit of Iranian General Ali Shamkhani to Iraq to bridge the gaps and proceed with the presentation of an agreed candidate.

This view was in line with the proposal of the political and security expert, Hisham Al-Hashemi, who believed that the visit of Shamkhani "came to fill Suleimani's void, and the inability of his alternative in Iraq.
