The head of the parliamentary human rights committee, Arshad al-Salhi, said in a press conference held in the parliament that "the number of martyrs reached up to more than 250 since the 1st of current month until now, and the number of wounded is more than 11000, while the number of detainees is more than 2500 people," noting that " 1500 were released while there are still detainees held by the security services."
He stressed that "the government must know that the status of the state is currently collapsing, because of violations that occurred against the peaceful demonstrator," explaining that "the people want to amend the election law, especially as this law was drafted according to the political frameworks of the concerned political blocs, and this is rejected and the people rejected it, That is why the will of the people must be heard”.
Salhi said that "we must give an opportunity to the Judicial Council to work, and that the political blocs to be away from interfering in the work of the judiciary, as well as the formation of neutral investigative committees to start direct investigation in violations that have occurred , access to the perpetrators and bring them to justice."
