, calling on Iran to put pressure on Iraqi Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki for a wider participation of Iraqi forces to resolve the crisis in the country.

Feinstein said in an interview with the BBC , seen by “Shafaq News that" Iran not the United States, is a major player in Iraq.

Feinstein demanded Tehran to pressure Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to broaden the base of political participation to resolve the crisis plaguing Iraq, warning of the danger of “ISIL” organization.

She considered the military progress achieved by gunmen of the organization on the ground as the most dangerous in the evolution of the crisis in Iraq.

ISIL organization controlled currently over large areas in northern Iraq, including Mosul city, Iraq's second-largest city.

Feinstein added, "I do not think anyone expected for this organization to achieve success in Sunni towns in the form that happened, so it is a very serious , evil and brutal group."

Despite the strong warning from ISIL danger , the American Senator demanded not to send ground troops to Iraq again.

She called on the leadership in Iran to put pressure on al-Maliki to broaden the base of his government to include more Sunnis and Kurds.

She explained, "In my opinion, Iran can exert intense pressure in order to re-form a government in Iraq that could reach Kurds in the north and Sunnis in the center and also satisfy the Shiites, that it is difficult but doable."

 

This comes at a time when members of the new parliament are preparing to hold its first session on Tuesday to elect the Speaker of the parliament as a prelude to form a new government.
