Shafaq News / The Foreign relations Committee of the Iraqi Parliament revealed on Tuesday that the talks by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi in Tehran focused on controlling borders and stopping the illegal traffic.
"The Prime Minister discussed several issues with Iranian officials during his visit to Tehran, in addition to strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries," committee member Amer Al-Fayez told Shafaq News.
He added that "the Iraqi delegation discussed in Tehran the gas export and electric power to Baghdad, especially in the summer."
Al-Fayez pointed out that "one of the main focus points is about controlling borders, land and seaports and security cooperation in those outlets, and stopping the smuggling of damaged materials and goods.”
Earlier, Al-Kadhimi arrived in Tehran on an official visit, where he met Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, the supreme leader Ali Khamenei and other officials.
