Shafaq News / Baghdad Crime Committee announced on Sunday, that members of "Beit Salloum" gang surrendered themselves to the Al-Kadhimiya Criminal Bureau, after the crackdown tighten against them by the security forces.
"In implementation of the orders of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior and in response to the appeal of innocent citizens and the continuation of the work team formed by the Directorate of Anti-Crime of Baghdad and the technical effort of the intelligence apparatus and the result of the constant pressure day and night represented by pursuing the (Beit Salloum) gang and conducting an investigation in their whereabouts and tightening measures against them in all the candidate areas for their presence in (Al-Taji - Al-Kadhimiya-Al-Bayaa- Al-Saydiya- Baghdad Al-Jadidia- Al-Sadr City- Al-Habibiya), which forced them to surrender to the Al-Kadhimiya Criminal Bureau Office and submit to Law,” a statement received to Shafaq News Agency read.
A gang known as "Beit Salloum" is known to threaten and blackmail people and force them to pay royalties by force of arms. According to the Ministry of Interior, this gang burned a number of houses and properties of civilians, causing them to flee from the capital Baghdad, while the security forces arrested the gang’s leader two days ago.
