Shafaq News / Thursday morning, civil defense teams were able to put out a fire incident inside a "dilapidated old khan" used for housing and storage in Al-Wathba Square area in central Baghdad.
The Civil Defense Directorate said in a statement today that "with the participation of more than 10 teams that reached the site of the fire, our teams were able to surround the burning fire and prevent it from spreading to areas close to the site of the accident, especially along with the old buildings constructed by wood and plaster of rapid ignition and collapse."
The statement added that "the civil defense teams are present around the clock in Al -Wathba Square area due to the frequent burning of tires from time to time, which necessitates their presence to put out the fires and keep their danger away from the warehouses and commercial buildings nearby."
