Shafaq News/ the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Fayeq Zaidan, discussed with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif the investigation’s procedure about the killing of the Iranian Qassem Soleimani and deputy chief of Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis.
A statement issued by the council said that “these discussions came after the UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial killings at the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Anis Kalamar which said that the attack is illegal and is considered a violation of international humanitarian law.”

Zaidan said during the meeting that the Iraqi judiciary treated this accident as a criminal murder and will be investigated under the Iraqi law "especially that one of the martyrs, was holding an official position in the Iraq”.

The Council President added "Since the early hours of the crime, a number of investigative actions have been taken with regard to the crime

Meanwhile, The two sides agreed to continue discussions between the two countries' representatives judicially and government to reach an appropriate mechanism regarding this and to complete the talks which started in Tehran.
