Shafaq News / Erbil Traffic Police Directorate announced on Wednesday that it had seized 27 vehicles for violating the curfew decision.
The Directorate spokesman, Fadel Hajji said in a statement received by Shafaq News, today, that the traffic and Asaish police, police and Zirfani forces have confiscated 124 driving licenses and seized 27 vehicles and 12 motorcycles for violating the curfew.
The Traffic Police Directorate of Erbil Governorate, the capital of Kurdistan Region requested, police officers on Tuesday to provide facilities for drivers who are allowed to move during the curfew and fine those who violate them.
The Directorate said in a statement yesterday that the Director of Erbil Traffic Police, Brigadier Jurist Deedar Omar Qadir inspected all police checkpoints in the city and informed the officers and police members to respect citizens more, as well as punish people who violate the law and the curfew decision.
The statement added that the police have today punished and fined 50drivers who violated the curfew, according to the instructions numbered 19 for 2020, indicating that the fine for the violator is 100 thousand dinars.
The Ministry of Interior in Kurdistan Region imposed a fine of 100,000 Iraqi dinars for drivers who violate the curfew decision for the first time, and 300,000 dinars for those who violate the ban for the second time while seizing the vehicle for five days.
The Ministry of Interior of Kurdistan Region decided to extend the curfew in the governorates of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah for another 72 hours, to start from 12 a.m. of 15-16 / 3/2020.
Also, a curfew was imposed between the districts and sub-districts of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah governorates for a period of 72 hours, provided that it applies from 12:00 a.m. of 3/17/20/2020.
The Ministry granted the authority to the governors of (Erbil and Sulaymaniyah) to organize how to meet the requirements of citizens during this period in a manner that does not affect the application of the first above point of the statement.
On Friday, the Ministry of Interior imposed a 48-hour curfew in the cities of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah after recording infections with Corona virus in them.
