Shafaq News / The local government in Sulaymaniyah province reassured residents on Monday that new Corona virus is under control, after recording four cases of the virus.
The Governor Haval Abu Bakr said in a press conference held today that it was decided to prevent holding concerts and events in places of worship and the halls designated for them and we call on citizens to avoid gatherings in order to avoid the risk of a virus outbreak, adding that the Supreme Fatwa Committee in Kurdistan Region is studying the issue of establishing Friday prayers or not. In turn, we advise people to perform prayers in their homes during this period.
Regarding the health conditions of those infected with Corona virus in Sulaimaniyah, the governor said that they are in very good health, adding that the virus is under control and has not spread in the province.
Abu Bakr called on citizens to avoid population gatherings and abide by health instructions issued to prevent corona infection.
On Sunday, the local government in Sulaymaniyah province confirmed 4 new infections with Corona virus after their return from Iran.
These are the first cases of the virus to be recorded in Kurdistan Region after diagnosing several cases in other regions of Iraq.
Governor Haval Abu Bakr said in a press conference held with the Health Director of Sulaimaniyah, Dr. Sabah Hawrami yesterday, "We are closely following the health status of the virus carriers returning from Iran," noting that 3 infected persons from one family are a 31-year-old man, a 23-year-old woman , a child of Age 8 years, and the fourth is a 22 years old woman.
He added that these infected people were quarantined after returning from Iran, noting that the condition of the infected is stable and are subject to health supervision.
The governor called on the citizens returning from China, especially from the Islamic Republic of Iran, to subject themselves to a medical test, stressing that Kurdistan Regional Government has taken the necessary measures to treat any recorded infection.
