Shafaq News / Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) decided on Sunday to prepare a special report on public debt and financial obligations and to send it to the Office of Financial Supervision and the Parliament of the region.
KRG said in a statement today that Prime Minister Masrour Barzani supervised a special meeting on the public debt and financial obligations of Kurdistan Region, in the presence of his deputy Qubad Talabani and a number of relevant ministers.
The statement added that during the meeting, the General Directorate for the Administration and Coordination of Public Debts of the Council of Ministers presented a detailed report prepared by the ministries, authorities and the competent authorities, and it included all the necessary tables and figures regarding the public debt and the financial obligations incurred by KRG.
It was decided to prepare a special report on public debt and financial obligations and send it to the Office of Financial Supervision in Kurdistan Region as a concerned authority after discussions, consultations and deliberations with the aim of scrutiny and review, to be referred to Parliament and be accessible to public opinion at the earliest time, the statement added.
