Shafaq News / The Ministry of Health of Kurdistan Region revealed on Sunday, the reason for the recent increase in infections diagnosed with   Corona virus in the cities of the region, especially in Sulaymaniyah Governorate.

 “The numbers of Corona virus infections in Kurdistan Region today were high. Hospitals will not be sufficient to receive more patients , and this is why we will use hotels to place mild cases in them because we currently have many critical cases that need respirators and to be under intensive care,” The ministry’s spokesman, Muhammad Qadir, told Shafaq News Agency.

"This wave is not stronger than the first, but at the beginning of the spread of the virus we were able to diagnose the cases early, but now no one comes to test from doubtful cases except after the symptoms appear strongly and that’s why the numbers increased highly for contact with these cases without knowing that they are carrying the virus thus they just come when their condition deteriorates,” he added.

On Sunday, the Ministry of Health of Kurdistan Region announced that 101 cases of corona virus were recorded in Sulaymaniyah city alone, in the largest daily count since the outbreak of the virus last March.

It is worth mentioning that Kurdistan Region recorded more than 700 infections and 6 deaths in total while recoveries reached 42.
