Shafaq News / The Minister of Health of Kurdistan Region, Saman Al-Barzanji expressed on Monday not supporting the complete lifting of the curfew in the region, stressing that Corona virus has not yet been controlled and remains a threat.
This came in a statement he made to reporters today from the capital, Erbil, after a ceremony to receive new medical equipment used with the virus from international organizations.
The minister said, "During the past 24 hours, we conducted approximately 1792 tests in all regions and cities of Kurdistan Region. Fortunately all of them were negative and there was no positive among them. The tests are continuing today. We hope that we will not record any new infection."
However, he added, "I want to tell the citizens that not recording new infections does not mean that the virus has been controlled, nor does it mean canceling all measures and preventive measures," stressing that "the situation should remain as it is."
