Shafaq News / The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani announced that the region supports the government of Mustafa Al-Kathemi expected to be formed.

Barzani said in a press conference, "We have already announced our position supporting Al-Kathemi to form the government, and we are still on our stand, as we want to take into account our demands as currently there is a delegation in Baghdad to discuss these demands."

He added, "Al-Kathemi got a Shiite consensus which this is one of our conditions for the prime minister, personally we know him - Al-Kathemi - and our discussions with him are not only related to Kurdistan Region only, but to the situation of Iraq in general, and we believe that Iraqi citizens deserve a better life."

"We want Al-Kathemi to be a prime minister serving all of Iraq," he said.
