Shafaq News / The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Wednesday that 106,000 new cases of new emerging coronavirus have been recorded in the world in the past 24 hours, the highest number of infections in a single day so far.

The organization expressed concern about the situation in poor countries, while rich countries continue to get out from the general isolation measures imposed at the peak of the virus.

"We still have a long way to go with the spread of this epidemic ... We are very concerned about the high number of cases in lower middle-income economies," WHO Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a news conference.
