Shafaq News / Secretary of the Supreme Council for National Security of Iran, Ali Shamkhani, accused the German government on Saturday of selling chemical weapons to Saddam Hussein.

Saddam’s regime used chemical weapons against the population in Kurdistan Region and Iranian forces during the 1980’s war that lasted for eight consecutive years between the two countries.

Shamkhani tweeted today, referred to the German government's decision to classify Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.

"A new surprise has been unveiled. Sellers of Saddam's chemical weapons of mass destruction are ranting in defense of human rights and describing the heroic Hezbollah as terrorist for fear of their child-killing friend (Israel)," the text of the tweet read.

"ISIS did not reach Europe because it was unable to pass the resistance wall, and how good it is for today to unveil the main supporters of terrorism," Shamkhani added.

On Friday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman , Abbas Mousavi strongly condemned the German government's decision against Hezbollah.

On Thursday, the German Interior Ministry said Germany had banned Iranian-backed Hezbollah guerrillas on its soil and designated it as a terrorist organization.

Police raided early Thursday in Germany to arrest people suspected of being members of the group. Security officials believe that up to 1050 people in Germany are members of a radical wing of Hezbollah.
