According to a report by the newspaper "Daily Mail", the 83-year-old man, who had previously lost part of his lung due to a respiratory illness, did not cancel such a number of public activities during the seven years of his career.

The next day, he canceled a mass throughout the city with Roman priests, and on Friday he missed a meeting with participants at the Vatican Conference on Artificial Intelligence.

The Vatican did not reveal the nature of Pope Francis' illness, saying only that he had "a slight health disorder".
