Shafaq News / The US Vice President revealed the expected date for a treatment for Corona virus, noting that this might happen "in two stages".

Mike Pence announced that it may be possible to find a drug to treat the emerging corona virus by this summer or fall.

"The vaccine may not be available until the end of the year or the following year, but the treatment to alleviate the pain of people who catch the virus may be available by summer or early fall," Pence said in a news conference.

Gilead Sciences Company has used a medicinal drug to treat an infected person in the United States as part of a medical experiment. The antibacterial drug was also included in the experiences and efforts of Asian countries to combat the virus.

Among other possible treatments is a drug developed by the drug Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, which uses monogenic antagonists to fight infections, that has already proven effective against the Ebola virus.

On Monday, the death toll from the new Corona virus in the United States rose to two on Monday, to 6 all recorded in Washington state, officials said.

Five of the six deaths were recorded in King County, the most populous city in Washington state, which includes the city of Seattle, with a population of 700,000, while the sixth death was recorded in Snohomish County, according to officials.

"The risk of all of us becoming infected will increase," said Jeff Dachen, a health sector official in King County.

"Although the majority of cases will be minor or moderate, the infection can cause a serious disease and there is an existing possibility that many people will develop the disease," he added.
