Shafaq News / Syria's representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Hossam El-Din Ala, considered that "silence and helplessness of the Security Council" motivates US, Israel and Turkey to launch aerial attacks by drones.
Ambassador Ala said, during a session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva today, Thursday, "The assassination of the commander of Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Major General Qassim Soleimani who played an important role in combating terrorism, with US drone, is more than a terrorism crime and cannot be justified on any legal basis".
Ala considered that the interpretations these countries justify their crimes with, whether under the pretext of fighting terrorism or the Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, are "legal heresies" that contradict the basic principles of respecting the sovereignty of states and prohibiting the use of force in international relations; and warned of legitimizing it.
The Ambassador highlighted the report issued by the special rapporteur about terrorist organizations linked to ISIS and Nusra being able to obtain droning technologies and deploy them in Syria, is a concrete evidence about the level of support these organizations received; which is a violation to the provisions of the UN charter that prohibits supporting organizations perpetrating terrorist acts".
Ala called on the UN Security Council to deter these acts that threaten international peace and security and violate the rules of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
