Shafaq News/ The death toll from the emerging corona virus in the United States on Sunday evening exceeded 99000.

"Worldometers" website, which specializes in corona casualties, reported that the United States has registered 1675,880 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far, including 99003 deaths, equivalent to 5.9% of the total number of cases, and 451,124 recoveries, or 26.9%.

For its part, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published in a new statistic today that reflects the data collected as of 20:00 GMT on May 23, stated that the total of the infections so far reached 1622,114 cases, including 97049 deaths.

American centers reported that the daily increase in infections reached 26,229 cases, while the increase in deaths reached 1047.

The United States is the first country in the world in terms of the number of infections and deaths caused by the novel Corona virus.

Although the numbers of the pandemic victims on a daily basis are still high, the country's authorities have launched a process to lift the general restrictions imposed by the virus.
