Shafaq News/ US Defense Secretary ,Mark Esper arrived at Saudi Arabia on Monday in an unannounced visit.

"Reuters" news agency said that Esper, who arrived at Saudi Arabia from Afghanistan, is expected to hold talks during the visit with the Kingdom's leadership and a meeting with US forces deployed in the country.

The visit is the first for Esper since he became US Secretary of Defense on July 24, and is taking place on the background of a significant escalation between the United States and its allies in the Gulf region, especially Saudi Arabia on one hand and Iran on the other.
