Shafaq news/ Reuters statistics showed that Covid-19 cases in the United States increased by 50,000 on Wednesday, which is the highest registered daily caseload since the beginning outbreak of the virus in the country.
"We are now having 40-plus thousand new cases a day. I would not be surprised if we go up to 100,000 a day if this does not turn around and so I am very concerned," Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee during a hearing on the pandemic.
Fauci added, "It is critical that we all take the personal responsibility to slow the transmission of Covid-19 and embrace the universal use of face coverings. I ask those that are listening to spread the word".
More than half of the daily caseload in the US comes from the states of Arizona, California, Florida, and Texas, which contain 30% of the population. In addition to ten other states, the four states registered more than double the number of cases in June.
Accordingly, The US has registered at least 49286 new Covid-19 cases, on Wednesday.
It is noteworthy that more than 10.5 million people contracted Covid-19, and more than 516000 died after losing the battle against the virus, worldwide.
